The TED gift process has evolved over the years, from every attendee receiving the same (amazing) gifts to a bespoke process that gives attendees the chance to personalize their gifts while also reducing their carbon footprint. For TEDMonterey, in addition to bags, bottles and the other usual suspects, the offerings included things like a gas-powered pizza oven and an adventure-filled trip to a TEDster’s farm. 

Here’s a look at some of the highlights from this year’s selection, all part of a redesigned gift program aimed at embracing personalization, prioritizing sustainability and mitigating waste.

  • Arc’teryx: The Arro 20 bag combines the durability of an outdoor pack with contemporary style, making it the right fit for everyday use.
  • Allegorie: The Gala tote upcycles about 400 apples from juice factories. 
  • reMarkable: The reMarkable 2 next-generation paper tablet converts your handwriting into text, with a paper feel on a digital screen. 
  • S’well: Want to keep your beverages hot (or cold)? Try these triple-layer insulated bottles and tumblers in beautiful blondewood.
  • A safety kit featuring hand sanitizer, soap, wipes and other necessities, provided by Soeder, Wipeys, Certainty SmartShield, Supergoop, Aries and Touchland (who also provided custom sanitization stations through the Monterey Conference Center).
